Life is all about goal setting. It is about constantly pushing yourself to achieve your life’s greatest ambitions. In my life, I have a variety of personal and professional goals. To start, one thing I always try to incorporate into my life is fitness, it keeps me sane and motivated. As a short-term/long-term goal, depending on how you looked at it, I strive to live a healthy lifestyle. From incorporating whole foods into my diet, to frequent exercise, I know living this way will help me live a happy and fulfilled life.  I also strive to journal everyday, and write down three good things that happened to me in the day (whether they are minor or significant).

For the short-term, I also strive to get on the Dean’s List every semester at CMU. I take a lot of pride in my school work, so accordingly, I would like for my hard work to be acknowledged. Another short-term goal would be to discover a major I cannot picture my life without. Finding something I love will make my life that much more enjoyable.

One of my long-term goals, as cliché as it sounds, is to find happiness in each day. Life is too short to dwell on the little things, so it is important to find the good whenever you can. Unfortunately, I have went through periods in my life where I have been depressed, so I strive to avoid falling into that hole again. Additionally, as a long-term goal, I hope to be in some sort of leadership position in my future career. I have always enjoyed having a positive influence on groups of people and leading by example; it would be a dream come true to continue that in my future.

To achieve these goals, I will have to persevere towards achieving them continuously. I will also need to surround myself with positive people who will encourage me to be the best I can be. It is a fact that you are a product of your environment, so it is important that I surround myself with people who will help me find success. Once I accomplish the goals I have set for myself right now, I will continue to make new ones. Challenging yourself and setting goals is what brings meaning and purpose to life. Anything can be accomplished if you work hard enough for it.
